Last year I completed the very easy goal of reading fifty books in a year (barely...) and this year, it looks like it will much more difficult. I slacked off for a two or three month period (No comment) and am now hastily making it up.
I wanted 2010's results to be different in terms of quality; no more YA filth! Though I had created a detailed list, outlining everything to be read, I'm unable to follow it as it is one of the mourned victims of the Great Hard-drive Crash of February '10. So, I've been following some unspoken rules:
-More quality literature (this is where 1001 comes in)
-Pick from different time periods, not just modern works
-Select non-fiction pieces that complement my interest in politics
-Spend time on texts and genres I normally wouldn't be drawn to.
-No re-reads!
Unlike last year, I'm counting it as read in 2010 if I completed it in 2010, not started. Take that, Crime & Punishment! You're on this year's list (BETTER BE!).
We'll see, I suppose, how well that turned out. Here's the list so far, in no meaningful order:
